John Legend Reveals Chrissy Teigen’s ‘Happy’ Song — and It’s Not One of His

John Legend connected with Dotty for Tuesday’s (Nov. 10) episode of Apple Music 1’s The Dotty Show to curate a soundtrack for any given scenario.

When it comes to what should be the national anthem, he picked his own “Glory” with Common, which they recorded for the 2014 motion picture Selma. But when it comes to his wife Chrissy Teigen’s happy song, none of his songs made the cut.

“She has one particular song that is her happy song, that’s like her good luck song,” he said. “She said when she was younger, whenever this song would play in the car when she was on her way to, like, an audition or anything, it was like she knew it was going to be a good day, and things were gonna be all right. It’s Mariah Carey ‘Always Be My Baby.'”

In March, Teigen and Legend sang and danced to the Mimi classic while making fried chicken on Instagram Live. The 34-year-old model and cookbook author gushed about how much she’d always wanted to film an underwater kissing scene just like the one in the “Always Be My Baby” music video, but when her husband reminded her of their underwater embrace in his “All of Me” clip, she shut him down — and MC used the same clapback.

“Yeah John! though you are a legend, it’s not always about you!” she responded in a quote-tweet of the video. “@chrissyteigen @johnlegend The food looks so good though, can I get a delivery?”
