“Positions” seems to have a release date.
Ariana Grande has unveiled an official countdown that is likely leading to new music. On Saturday night (Oct. 17), just hours after posting a mysterious teaser typing the word “positions,” the singer updated the homepage of her website to count down to two dates — presumably the release dates for her new single and a full album.
According to Grande’s countdown, something is coming at midnight ET on Oct. 23, followed by a release at midnight ET on Oct. 30. Fans speculate that it will be the lead single and then her sixth album in its entirety.
Earlier this week, Grande teased, “i can’t wait to give u my album this month.”
Producer TBHits (Tommy Brown) also hinted at the upcoming album last weekend, and Grande herself tweeted a song snippet and what appeared to be a lyric in September.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez sat down for a virtual chat with Joe Biden ahead of the general election.
The couple took part in a conversation about the importance of voting with the Democratic presidential nominee, as seen in a video uploaded to YouTube on Friday (Oct. 16).
“We’re thrilled and we’re excited to vote,” Rodriguez said. “I think our voice has never been more important. We want to come together as a team to defeat COVID and to rebuild this U.S. economy that needs us all so much.”
Lopez added, “For me, it’s [about] unifying the nation again, you know, getting rid of this hate. Thinking about my kids walking around in a world where it’s OK to be racist or prejudiced because our administration says it’s OK — that, to me, is really sad because it’s not the country that I believe that I grew up in.”
In the video segment, which also featured Biden’s wife, Jill, they spoke about the need to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, which has disproportionately affected the Latino population, and the power that Latino voices have.
“My kind of hope and quest for the Latino community is that they start understanding their power,” J. Lo said. “Their vote counts.”

Quavo, perhaps inspired by Travis Scott and J Balvin, is sharing what he gets at Mickey D’s.
The Migos rapper headed out to McDonald’s to pick up some food and posted about the experience on Instagram Saturday (Oct. 17).
“Double Cheeseburger Plain New Spicy Nuggets Medium Fries BBQ Sauce (Hot N Fresh),” Quavo captioned the series of pictures, one of which shows him wearing his mask to place the order. Another photo gives a good look at his unbagged meal.
“What U Want ???” he added.
It’s unclear whether Quavo was hinting at wanting a partnership with the fast food company or just showing off his favorite lunch.
Travis Scott had a limited edition partnership with McDonald’s — with a meal consisting of a Quarter Pounder with cheese, bacon and extra lettuce, a medium order of fries with BBQ sauce and a Sprite — that helped boost sales over the summer, and there’s currently a J Balvin pick (a Big Mac, a medium order of fries with ketchup and an Oreo McFlurry) available through Nov. 1.

“Would love to go on Joe Rogan’s podcast LIVE this week I have my team trying to get your number Joe I’m in Calabassas Let’s do this my friend,” he tweeted on Oct. 12, hoping to get Rogan’s attention.
It seems that West made contact with him after all. On Saturday afternoon (Oct. 17), he posted an update with photo stills of what appears to be a video chat with Rogan.
“Joe Rogan said it’s cool for me to design the set for our podcast this Friday,” he wrote on Twitter.

Three 6 Mafia is ready to return to the live stage.
On Friday (Oct. 16), the Memphis hip-hop group announced that it will perform “the 1st indoor arena concert in the country since the pandemic” on Dec. 11 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
“Make sure you wear a mask, social distancing, y’all know what it is,” Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J said in a video on Instagram when announcing the event.
Tickets for the concert are currently available through Ticketmaster in “pods of 4 people or less” to ensure social distancing, Three 6 Mafia wrote on IG, adding that the show was approved by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
Rapper Project Pat is scheduled to open the concert.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic struck earlier this year, thousands of tours and festivals around the world have been postponed or canceled in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus.
For the upcoming Three 6 Mafia show, Rupp Arena’s 21,017 capacity will be limited to 15 percent, which amounts to 3,152 concert-goers and event staff, ABC’s WTVQ reports. In addition to required face coverings, the fans in attendance will be subject to temperature checks upon entry.
“We have been in contact with the KY State Department of Health for many weeks working out the details and coming up with a plan that fulfills the safety protocols recommended by the CDC and the Commonwealth of Kentucky,” Lexington Center Corporation president/CEO Bill Owen reportedly said. “We are confident that the measures we have put in place will provide a safe environment for patrons to come out and enjoy live entertainment. We are excited for this opportunity to reopen our doors and welcome concert-goers back to Rupp Arena!”
Ariana Grande is building anticipation for her upcoming album.
Less than a week after revealing that her sixth studio release would arrive in October, the 27-year-old pop star shared a video on social media of herself typing out the word “positions” on a keyboard in slow motion.
Grande didn’t elaborate further on what “positions” means, but fans are speculating that it could be the title of her album or a new song.
The singer, who recently collaborated with Lady Gaga for Mother Monster’s “Rain on Me,” last released an album in 2019. Thank U, Next dropped in February that year, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Producer Tommy Brown earlier seemingly hinted at the upcoming new album. On Oct. 10, he shared a photo of himself with Grande on Instagram and captioned it, “6****.” The artist herself gave Arianators something to sing about back in September. Grande tweeted a song snippet and what appeared to be a lyric on Sept. 14.
Earlier this year, during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, the singer noted that she had put together a home studio, but added that fans shouldn’t expect new music anytime soon.
“I don’t really feel comfortable putting anything out right now, because it’s just like other than this, it’s a really tricky time for all of that,” Grande explained.

Taylor Swift fans receiving a hand-signed copy of her latest album, Folklore, could be in a for a special treat.
The 30-year-old pop star took to Twitter on Saturday (Oct. 17) to humorously inform her fans that their forthcoming signed Folklore CD booklets could include a few random hairs from her beloved cats Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button.
“Along with the signed cd, some lucky purchasers of these items may even receive complimentary cat hair stuck inside the pages,” Swift captioned a photo of the signed booklets alongside her lounging cat. “Or the aromatic scent of white wine I occasionally spill while signing.”
Dozens of Swifties replied to the singer’s tweet, sharing photos of themselves — and their own cats — alongside signed copies they’ve already received of Folklore.
Swift has given her diehard fans many different ways to enjoy the critically-acclaimed album she recorded in secret during quarantine, releasing the physical deluxe edition of Folklore with eight alternate covers, as well as offering up “Chapter” versions to streaming services in which she re-works the album’s songs into new forms based on dramatic themes.
